There is a lot of talk about mini sessions this time of year and I wanted to take some time to explain what they are and answer some common questions about them.

What is a mini session?

Photographers will usually designate one or two days and schedule mini sessions back to back at a set location. They are shorter photo sessions with a smaller amount of included images with add on options such as additional digitals or prints. Sometimes mini sessions include a theme or set up and sometimes they are more simple and timeless at a pretty location.

Who should book a mini session?

Mini sessions are ideal for families who have already had a full session this year and want a quick update or a few images for a Christmas card. I also recommend them for families with young kids because they are simple and easy and we all know how quickly our kids change.

What should I wear for a mini session?

First, you need to decide how you will be using your images. Are they to be printed for your walls in your home? Then I would suggest more neutral tones that match your home decor. Are they going to be used for Christmas Cards? Then I would suggest something a little more festive. Be true to your own style and keep in mind a level of comfort for your children.

I hope this was helpful for you and if you have any further questions, please send me an email and I'll be happy to help.
